REST
All the major religions of the world agree on one thing: the need for rest. Even God rested. Every spiritual practice, to be called that, must incorporate some form of rest and relaxation.

PRACTICE GETTING LOST
“...[T]he practice of getting lost has nothing to do with wanting to go there. It is something that happens, like it or not. You lose your job, your lover leaves, the baby dies. At this level, the advanced practice of getting lost consists of consenting to be lost, since you have no other choice. The consenting itself becomes your choice, as you explore the possibility that life is for you, not against you, in spite of all of the evidence to the contrary. [The point is] anything can become a spiritual practice once you are willing to approach it that way...”

WHAT CALLS YOUR SOUL?
What in your life is calling you?
When all the noise is silenced,
the meetings adjourned,
the lists laid aside,
and the wild iris blooms by itself
in the dark forest,
What still pulls on your soul?
In the silence between your heartbeats
hides a summons.
Do you hear it?
Name it, if you must
or leave it forever nameless
but why pretend it’s not there?

SOLVITURE AMBULANDO
“It is solved by walking. What is it? If you want to find out, then you will have to do your own walking.”
Barbara Bradford Taylor (An Altar in the World)
FAITH IN ALL THINGS
“The immortality of the soul is much easier to conceive than the resurrection of the body.”

THE HUMAN HEART
“The human heart has an inherent need for self-expression, whether it be through visual art, the written or spoken word, music or movement.”

RESOLVE
Don’t worry about the wicked and don’t envy those who do wrong. For like grass, they soon fade away. Like spring flowers, they soon wither.
